These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, applications, tools, document workflows, subscriptions, and related services offered by pdf-converter.ai (collectively, the "Service").
By visiting the Service, creating an account, uploading files, starting a trial, purchasing a subscription, clicking to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
The Service may allow you to upload, convert, compress, merge, split, organize, export, OCR, edit, or otherwise process PDF files and related documents through browser-based or connected workflows.
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where reasonably appropriate, we may provide notice of material changes affecting paid core functionality.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.
You may not use the Service if doing so would violate applicable law, sanctions, export controls, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, confidentiality duties, or contractual obligations.
You must provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials, account access, billing credentials, and any users or collaborators you authorize. You are responsible for all activities occurring under your account, except to the extent caused by our own breach of duty.
You must notify us promptly at support@pdf-converter.ai if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.
Paid plans, included features, billing intervals, plan limits, and prices will be shown on the pricing page, checkout page, or order form.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and recurring charges you agree to at checkout.
You are responsible for providing valid payment information and for paying applicable taxes unless the law requires us to collect or remit them differently.
If we offer a free trial, the applicable trial period, billing method, and automatic renewal terms will be disclosed at or before checkout.
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current trial or billing period.
You may cancel through your account settings where available or by contacting support@pdf-converter.ai.
Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically entitle you to a refund for fees already paid, except as provided in our Refund Policy or required by law.
Upgrades may take effect immediately and may result in prorated charges. Downgrades generally take effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
"Customer Content" includes files, document content, text, images, metadata, OCR data, exported results, and other materials you upload, submit, generate, or process through the Service.
You retain ownership of your Customer Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use Customer Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, support, and improve the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, permissions, and legal authority to upload, process, and use Customer Content through the Service.
You may not use the Service to:
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including feature restriction, suspension, or termination.
The Service may rely on third-party providers for hosting, payments, analytics, communications, security, or related functionality.
We are not responsible for third-party systems, outages, delays, changes, or restrictions beyond our reasonable control.
Except for Customer Content, pdf-converter.ai and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, design, workflows, interfaces, branding, documentation, and related materials.
Subject to these Terms and any applicable subscription, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for lawful internal or personal purposes consistent with the plan you purchased.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect and process personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that our Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Service.
If you and pdf-converter.ai exchange non-public information that should reasonably be understood as confidential, each party will protect that information using reasonable care and use it only for purposes related to the Service, except where disclosure is required by law.
We may offer beta, preview, or experimental features. Such features may be incomplete, may change at any time, and may be subject to additional terms.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, create security or legal risk, misuse the Service, or where suspension or termination is required by law.
You may stop using the Service at any time, subject to any outstanding payment obligations.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free availability.
We do not guarantee that conversions will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every file type, use case, or regulatory requirement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, pdf-converter.ai will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or business interruption.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims related to the Service will not exceed the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid us for the Service during the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless pdf-converter.ai, its affiliates, personnel, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your Customer Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your violation of third-party rights.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
The European Commission explains that EU consumer law requires specified pre-contract information for distance contracts and regulates withdrawal-related disclosures for digital content and services.
Unless otherwise stated in an order form or required by applicable mandatory law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which pdf-converter.ai is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Before filing a formal claim, the parties agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material updates may be announced through the website, the product, or email where appropriate.
